Mesa Falls & Big Springs

Yesterday after church we decided to take the kids on a drive to one of our favorite places... Mesa Falls. It has been such a long time since Drew and I went that we thought it would be so fun to take the kids and see what they thought. Of course they loved it, but then convinced Tate a rock was going to kill him so he was scurred the whole time and kept saying "Rock Die Me" HA! It is such a pretty drive and we had a great time being together as a family. Drew has been working so hard lately the kids have really missed him and it was a perfect outing for everyone to spend time together.

After Mesa Falls we took the kids to Big Springs to feed the fish and that was awesome. Tate especially had a good time with it. It was fun to show our kids what a beautiful place we live!

Happy Birthday McKenzie Elisabeth!

Today is McKenzie's 7th birthday! Who can belive little Kenzie Bug is already 7? It seems like just yesterday Drew and I were at church timing contractions and getting very excited to meet our baby girl. Having McKenzie in our family has been so fun and so crazy. She is probably the silliest little girl I have ever known. She loves to tell stories and jokes and cracks her self up most of the time. My favorite story of McKenzie when she was little is when she couldn't pronouce her F's. We worked with her every day say F F F F and making the sound F makes. She just couldn't get the F sound but was great with an SR sound. Anyways, my mom was sitting very close to her face saying McKenzie say FROG F F F Frog. And McKenzie said F F F SROG in the cutest little voice and we all had a good laugh. Then as Logan got old enough to talk she would say to him "Logan say Mom. F F F Mom." I guess we beat it in her head pretty hard that F sounds. :) McKenzie is VERY smart. Probably too smart for her own good. She loves to read and is reading chapter books so well. She is such a good big sister and helps me so much with the younger kids. She has her sass too... like the other day (Sunday) when I asked her to come and clean up her mess and she said she couldn't because "Sunday is a day of rest!" I hope McKenzie will always know how special she is to me and how much we needed her in our lives. I look forward to many more birthdays and years with McKenzie!

A day in the life of Mr. Snarffy

Tate has definately turned into a 2 year old! He is very independent and strong willed and unfortunately learning all the wrong words to use! His favorite being butthead. It is hard not to laugh when your little dirty faced, red headed 2 year old is saying "Mommmeeee butthead" in the cutest voice when he isn't getting his way. What a naughty boy huh? His new favorite item is his helmet that he puts on as soon as he wakes up and we have a hard time getting it off of him. He sure is a fun little boy!

New Patio Furniture!!!!

So today has been a wonderful day!!! I went to walmart to get another fabulously cute shirt I found for only 7.50! When you find them that cute and cheap you have to buy in bulk! Anyways, I have been wanting and looking for patio furniture but haven't found something I LOVE for the right price. Well today must have been my lucky day because I went to the walmart patio furniture section and there it was... a beautiful set of chairs and table ON CLEARANCE!!! I asked the man working why the good sale and he said it was because they over ordered. So I went ahead and bought it without much thought of what Drew might say... I hoped he wouldn't be too mad at the price when I first told him how much I saved! :)

So you might be wondering how much I saved??? Well online they sell for 400 but you pay the shipping which equals about the same for what it sells in the store for $498.00. I bought this gorgeous set of furniture for guess how much??????? Only $197!!!! What a screaming good deal! Drew wasn't mad at all and actually happy I found something I love for a great price. He even said they were comfortable. Now I can't wait for more summer BBQ's and time outside!

You know you need to wax when....

Here is how the conversation went...

Logan: Mom, do girls have mustaches?

Me: No... that would look silly.

Logan: Then why do you have one?

Our weekend...

This weekend Drew and I were able to go to Utah for my friend Ashley's wedding. We also got to see Luke and Heidi because they had come to town for a visit. It was a short trip but sooo fun. Brady and Rachael watched the kids while we were in the temple and I think they had a good time hanging out with the kids. Tate sure loved getting so much attention from everyone all to himself. (we only took Tate and Chayse) Then we went over to Jennifer's where we got to spend a little time with my cute little nephew Luke. He didn't know what to think of me, but he had fun with Tate. He especially loved Chayse and wanted her all to himself. Tate showed what a good big brother he is and got very posessive over her. It was so cute. I wish so much that they lived closer. Hopefully someday!

I don't always give Drew enough credit for the good dad, great husband and even better friend that he is! He has been working sooo hard lately and accomplishing so much for our family. He is building up our own business more and more every day with his good looks and charm! :) I am so proud of him in all that he does and is able to do. He has the tolerance of a concrete wall and the best attitude of anyone I know. He has to be this way to make up for my lack there of. hee hee! I think of all the time we have spent together and all the years we have been together (9 years... CRAZY) and he just gets better as time goes on! I am so grateful for him and for the rock he is in my life and for him letting me be who I need to be and never trying to change me or control me. He knows I am little bit sane but mostly crazy and I think he likes it that way. :)

Here are some funny facts you may not know about Drew:

1.He drinks pickle juice out of the jar.

2. Will eat an onion like an apple.

3. He likes to do weird dances when he thinks no one is looking.

4. Makes up nicknames for just about everybody he knows. (you want to know yours??)

5. Only wears a size 8.5 in mens shoes.

6. Owned his first pair of shorts 3 years ago when we went to Mexico.

7. Has a complex about thinking his nose is too big.

8. Paces when he talks on the phone. (so annoying!!!!!)

We are going out of town in a few days so I wanted to post it now, BUT Happy Father's Day Drew and I wish they had a Husbands's day to celebrate also because you deserve 2 special days just for you!

My Family!

Kelsey, Garrett and Jennifer are CRAZY! We had such a fun time!!! My kids absolutely were in heaven having them here to love and spoil them. Chayse got so spoiled being held and McKenzie... oh that child is a nut ball. All I need to say is don't ask how much she loves shrimp. :) And even though I don't have a picture of them... thank you so much Brady and Rachael for driving so far also! You're the BEST! Thank you so much for coming!

Chayse's special day!

It was such a good weekend! I was lucky enough to have 3 of my siblings come to our house for Chayse's baby blessing this past Sunday. Kelsey was so nice to come all that way and we loved having her here. We worried all week about the weather but it turned out to be one of the most beautiful days we have had so far this year. It was so awesome because we had so many family and friends there to support us and show their love for Chayse. Drew was so sweet and she had a very simple and beautiful blessing. I felt the love of my Heavenly Father all day and it was so special for me to have Jennifer, Kelsey and Garrett there with me. Patty helped me make Chayse's dress that we made from my wedding dress. I thought it would be more special for my girls to each have a piece of the dress than for it to just yellow in a box, so McKenzie will get her baptism dress made out of it next year. She also made a beautiful afgan and the booties I put in the pictures above. I was also lucky enough to have my mom make Chayse a special dress to wear to the luncheon. It was so sweet and delicate. I didn't get any pictures, but Kelsey did so I will post more later. Chayse looked absolutely beautiful and was so good all day.

Having Chayse was a life changing experience for Drew and me. It added a dynamic to our relationship that wasn't there before and it was something we needed. Having those days in the hospital were the worst but best days ever. Nothing mattered but family. Not money, bills, the house, cars, homework... nothing but eachother. I had a taste of what life should be like and hopefully what Heaven is like. It helped me to see what is truly important and I am very grateful for that experience.

Thank you to everyone who helped me accomplish the day and make it through in one piece. I couldn't ask for better friends and family in my life!
