Boots-a-Monkey

For some reason Tate has been lucky enough to receive this new nickname from his Ma-Ma (that is what he calls Drew... HYSTERICAL I KNOW!) Well today Drew took the kids out on the sled again and our little Boots-a-Monkey got so tuckered out he fell asleep on the sled!!!! I got a cute picture of him sleeping and all bundled up looking like that kid off of The Christmas Story. We love him so much and he just makes a person laugh! For all those wondering... I am called just plain Mom by our little Boots.

Merry Christmas to Us!

Well Christmas was a complete success! They let us sleep in until 8am and it was great! We loved watching them open their gifts and be so excited. Logan's favorite toy was the semi with monster trucks. Kenzie loved her Tracy barbie doll from Hairspray. Tate got so many things he just didn't know what to think. We decided this year to get Logan and Kenzie their very own gun and they thought it was really cool. It is a 22 with a 4-10 barrell you can switch it out with. We just played with toys all morning and rode the sleds all over in the afternoon. It has been snowing a lot this week so there is a lot of fun snow to play with and makes sledding perfect! We are so blessed and had such a good holiday. The day is never long enough, but I will take what I can get. I love being with my family and watching them have so much fun getting ready for Santa and watching their eyes light up when they open their gifts. I was telling Drew as we were getting all the toys out under the tree that I was hoping for a Christmas miracle this year... meaning that when I woke up there would be a special present under the tree just for me from Santa that I didn't know I was getting. Drew and I aren't very good at being secretive with our gifts and kind of buy things through out the month of December and just call it good for Christmas... well he informed me sadly that I would not be getting a Christmas miracle but if I had told him sooner that Christmas Eve he could have done that. Doesn't that defeat the concept of the Christmas miracle?!?! I did get spoiled with a carpet steam cleaner that I love with a passion and have already cleaned all the carpet in my house. I got Drew the Sirius Satellite radio and he was very surprised. That was the first gift I have given him that didn't have to do with hunting that he didn't hate.

Anyways, we hope you all had a great holiday and got everything you hoped for. It makes me sad it is over, but I guess I can start looking forward to next year! P.S. You should enlarge the last picture of Kenzie and Tate because it is sooo funny what Tate is doing with the barrell of the gun. What funny kids!

Yet another funny thought of Logan's...

"Mom, I sure wish that guy in the big brown truck would bring me presents"

Little does Logan know I only have to make a one stop shop at Cal Ranch and his holiday presents are ready to go!

The Christmas Season

Well I haven't posted pictures of my house lately since I got all my painting done and with some pretty Christmas decorations up. There are some of the tile and bathroom.. they speak for themselves.

I love this time of year! We have been so very blessed I don't even know where to start. First of all, we are all healthy and happy and that is what matters most. Second, we have a great house that we love and LOVE even more now that I have painted and made it our own. Third, I feel very blessed to have been able to get new-to-me furniture for my front room that I adore and looks like it was made especially for my taste and my room, at a very great price. Everytime we turn around it seems like we are having to buy something new or replacing something old and it never fails that we get an incredible deal that we are SOOOO thankful for. It just reconfirms to me that I do receive blessings from paying a full tithing. Fourth, we are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family that love us and take care of us and help us whenever we need it. Drew's brother helped us SOOOO much by doing the counter tops through out the house, Robbie did our tile for next to nothing price and did an awesome job, Melissa for the couches, Tenille for helping me paint and to Bonnie for giving me such great ideas and listening to me freak out about silly things and for always being my BFF ... there are just too many to list.

Drew and I were talking last night about how things just seem so right in our lives and we see blessing from our Heavenly Father everywhere we turn. I am so very thankful for a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who guide me and teach me and love me everyday no matter what. Drew is such a great husband and father to my kids that I couldn't have asked for anything better. My kids are naughty and crazy but I adore them and take pleasure in being their mother and thank my lucky stars every night for each of their personalities and for what they bring into our home. I do hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their friends and family and that we can all take time to acknowledge and be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives.
