How is it that ten days can feel like an eternity? It is pretty easy, Especially when you sit for hours on end watching your little baby breathe and sleep. Thank you thank you to my great mom and mother in law who helped out tremendously over the last 2 weeks. We wouldn't have survived otherwise.
So here is his story. The shortened version! :) I tried REALLY REALLY hard to convince Drew to stay home from work on Sat. the 27th. It couldn't be done because he had so much to do before the baby was born. We always figured he'd come early and getting to 35 weeks was AWESOME so we knew it would likely be anytime.
About 5:30 that night I talked to Drew and then his mom. Things were fine. No contractions. No labor. Just sitting watching TV and BORED! About 6pm I got up to use the restroom and I began to bleed very heavy. After freaking out I called my Dr. He said come to the hospital ASAP! I called Drew. NO ANSWER. I called Patty. NO ANSWER. I called Rhonda, Bridgett, Karin, Mandy, Tammie... NO ANSWER. I had Tate and Chayse with me and they were in dress up clothes. I knew I probably shouldn't take them to the hospital and I knew I had to get going fast. So I got in the car, headed to Bridgett's. Saw a light on... threw the kids out of the car and was on my way.
When I was half way to the hospital Drew called me back and he said he'd get there are soon as possible. Long story short... I love my Dr. He was incredible with me. Mandy was awesome answering my phone and staying in touch with Drew and Patty. I had an emergency c-section and was put all the way out to have it done so I remember NOTHING of Holden's actual birth. The next thing I remembered was waking up about 9pm and finally seeing Drew. He got to the hospital about a half hour after Holden was born so he was getting filled in on everything that happened. It was quite the adventure and now we have a beautiful baby boy that we have waited so long to meet!
Our stay in the NICU was mostly pleasant. My Dr took such good care of both of us while I was pregnant and took every precaution for preterm birth that I know Holden did so much better because of it. The nurses up there are fantastic. It is NEVER easy to leave your little baby behind when you go home at night but I knew he was being well taken care of.
We are so excited to have him home. He is right where he belongs!

Having a baby in NICU is heart breaking, the only comforting thing about it is that the nurses there are great. Tahlia was in NICU for 10 days and I think that I cried everytime that I had to leave her there. I am so happy that all went well and that everybody is okay!! Congrats.
He is beautiful!! So glad he is home and doing great!!! Congrats, we love you guys,
