Chopped

Today was my first time purchasing and picking up the bountiful basket full of awesome fruits and veggies. I love it! Tonight Drew was thinking we should have a chopped competition using only the stuff in our basket and pantry. Kelsey made a kumquat honey orange glaze shrimp. It was not bad if you like shrimp so it's a good thing KENZIE LOVES SHRIMP. Saying she loves shrimp doesn't quite explain how much she LOOOVVVEEESSS shrimp.

Garrett did a baked asparagus wrapped in bacon. He is a natural born chef and could probably really be on the Chopped show. It was good,REALLY good- but not as good as mine. I call it a "gourmet" pronounced GOR-MET burger. I can't cook very well. Mostly because I don't cook. I stick to the basic casseroles, spaghetti, McDonalds- things that don't fail! :) So I made a tasty hambuger using several items from my basket and my best friend SPRAY BUTTER. Drew said he may request it for a meal sometime soon, Garrett ate 2 and Kelsey was still recovering from the shrimp! HA!!!

It was soooo fun! We love the food network. Kelsey loves it too so she is a great match for our late night TV obsession. I just wish I won 10k bucks for being the chopped champ!!!

Today we went here with GARRETT (aka Gary, Gar-Bear, Garrett the Ferrett, Garrettina, G-Money, G, Garrito, Broseph or G-Rat) It was awesome. He is awesome... already trying to learn the Russian language- Rosetta Stone... what a nerd! We love you Garrett!

Dexter!

Just a little reminder that I did kill a deer and now he hangs on my wall. Drew was very excited to hang that baby up and now I can brag for many years to come! :)

Let the good times begin...

never a dull moment with Kenzie!

We are at that time of year again when we are busy every weekend with Kenzie dancing and Logan wrestling! Logan had his first tournament yesterday and walked away the proud owner of a silver medal. Not too shabby for his first one of the season. He was not very happy with himself, but we try to encourage "having fun" and "winning 2nd is AWESOME" attitudes! He is so good at the sport that we look forward to all the coming years watching him get better! (no pictures, but some to come next time! )

McKenzie had her first showcase last night of the dance season. I was amazed at how well she did and am as usual shocked by her grace and beauty! Especially because Drew and I both have a serious case of all left feet! She has improved leaps and bounds from last year! It is so impressive. We love watching her dance... and suffer through all the other millions of dances! It makes for a very very long day, but well worth it!

March Madness!

March came in like a lion in our house in 2006! No one could have guessed we would have had an orange haired, crazy child we decided to name TATE!!! Tate was NOT a good baby. He was mean, cried all the time, had ear infections, cried all the time (did I mention that) and coincidently Drew nicknamed him "The Madness" It was on June 11th of 2006 that TATE turned into a sweet baby boy that we decided we could keep around for a while longer. Thank goodness that colic decided to STOP! Since this day he has aquired new nicknames- the most famous is "THE ORANGE HAIRED ONE", Tater-Bug or TA-TEE (pronounced TAH-TEE)

Tate is soooo smart. He is in pre-school and loves loves loves it. He just adores Drew and Logan and thinks that whatever they do is the coolest thing ever. Tate is my little helper during the day when the kids are in school. He is so good with Chayse and they kiss and hug all the time. They are so cute.

I can't believe Tate is 4! He is so special to us and I LOVE THAT WE ALWAYS GET TO SPEND THIS DAY TOGETHER. Happy Birthday Tater-Bug!
