February's best creation...

Who can believe Chayse turned two? Not me, that's for sure. It has been a wild two years with this girl. She is incredible and I'm not just saying that because she's my kid. She really is! Chayse is the most beautiful girl. Her eyes are so gorgeous and her lips even make me jealous. :) I love her so much. Being her mommy is the best gift ever!

We decided that with Tate and Chayse always having a birthday a week apart we would do seperate parties for them EVERY YEAR. It takes effort to do two parties so close together, but I know it's important for them to have their special day. Call me crazy, but my birthday was always the most IMPORTANT day of my life until I was about 18.:) I loved the attention!

Happy Birthday Tilly. WE L.O.V.E. you!!!!

I've been wanting to decorate my new table or at least finish painting the bench I built to go with it, but here is a little sneak peak of the best thing I've ever made. Drew and I had such a good time working out the details and he actually trusted my opinion and ability to get the job done. We love the way it turned out! I absolutely love it because I could make it the BEST SIZE for my kitchen. It isn't too big or too small... it's JUST RIGHT! I;ll tell you what... benches are the only way to go with small kids and kitchen tables. I love it! I'll post some pictures when I get it painted.

I am an avid shopper/seller on craigslist. I knew I could hold out and find a great deal on some chairs to go with my new table.. and boy did I ever!!! Don't be jealous when I tell you for all 4 chairs I spent 30 bucks.... and the table cost about 20... the paint 5 bucks... my time is $FREE.99. So that means I got a brand new kitchen table, awesome new chairs for all around 60 bucks. Incredible... I KNOW! Thank you to Drew for his help, and KNOCK OF WOOD for your inspiring ideas! NEXT UP: girls bed, end tables for my bedroom!

Headboard

Okay... here it is... my new love! A little background on this old door. We actually don't know where we got it or how long we've had it. It has been following us around for years now and Drew would NEVER get rid of it no matter how many times I told him to do it! Then a few months ago I had an idea that maybe I could use that for a headboard when we bought our new bed. After checking out the internet at some different ideas, we came up with this SIMPLE AND EASY way to use that old door and turn it into something beautiful. All for the cost of about 10 bucks! You heard me people, 1o bucks! It took about 45 minutes to assemble, 30 minutes to paint, and no time at all to fall in love with! Only thing left to do... touch up the edges. Next up: KITCHEN TABLE (YOU'LL DIE- 15 bucks to make) GIRLS ROOM, BOYS ROOM!!!!

The kids love the little four wheelers that we have. They would ride on them from morning until night every day if they could. Well, not if they could, if I'd let them. :) I found a cute little pair of snow boots at the D.I. for Chayse... 50 CENTS PEOPLE!!! She loves them. Kelsey made fun of her snow hat with the little butterfly on top, but as they were sledding today Kenzie was singing the entire time "Butterflies fly away..." You all know the song, RIGHT? It was adorable. Those girls are best friends. It couldn't make me happier.

In other exciting news, I don't have a kitchen table anymore so we are picnic-ing every meal on the cold tile. I can't wait to show you the little diddy Drew and I are making to replace my once prized posession BEFORE it was ruined , refinished and then ruined again. May your new family treat you well pretty table. :)

And in EVEN MORE EXCITING NEWS, my headboard is getting finished as we speak...pictures to come... but I will give you an image to help you envision- 4x4's, and old door, black paint, various other wood along the way.... I know you can't wait.
