Our hospital adventure

We have been planning on Chayse getting her tubes in for several weeks now on the 29th. I took her for her pre op appt and the Dr. said we might as well take Tate's tubes out the same time we do Chayse's. I thought it would be a good idea to get both done and over especially since Kenzie and Logan were both taken care of for the morning we would be at the hospital. I, of course, made Drew come with me to deal with 2 of my babies going into "surgery". No, it isn't major and it takes about 5.2 seconds, but I still get worried and fear my kid will be the 1% chance of something major going wrong.
We left for the hospital at 6:15 and the conversation on the way there went like this:

Tate: I don't want to go to the hospull (Hospital)

Me: Tate, you will be okay. The dr. is just going to check your ears.

Tate: I don't like that guy with big fingers.

Drew: Who is the guy with big fingers Tate?

Tate: The guy who looks in my ears. I am going to break that guys big fingers. Make him bleed everywhere.

What a loving child we have!

We decided to have Tate get a little verced before the dreaded "hand off at the door" because I know him and he is very mean and angry when we doesn't like what is going on to him. I thought maybe him being calm and nice would make for a more pleasant experience... mostly for the Dr. (better watch those fingers) and the nurses. I am a mean mean mean mom, but my favorite thing about all of my kids being in the hospital is the loopy drugs they get. I make them put on a show and laugh hard at them! Tate was surely no exception.

The surgeries went well. Chayse screamed and screamed for about an hour and a half when she came out of the anesthesia. One more reason I was so glad Drew was there. Tate ended up having to have scar tissue removed and a patch put on his ear drum due to other complications. We are so grateful to the good dr. we take them too and I am very pleased to announce no one lost any fingers that day!

I don't know what's up with the video looking like that... sorry.

11 Months!!!

I can't believe Chayse will be 1 in just a couple weeks. The time has gone by very fast... too fast. She got her first tooth- FINALLY- and yesterday said her real first word... UH-OH! Clear as day and cute as could be. Chayse is still spoiled and still the cutest baby I could ever imagine!

The older rascals are doing great! McKenzie and Logan are loving having a new dog... his name is Jack (pictures later) and Tate is really started to talk like CRAZY. And so well! It is fun to see him growing up right before our eyes. Yesterday he told Drew "Dad, you shut your mouth" It's hard not to laugh when he is so naughty! I got the best picture of them asleep in my bed. I will be able to blackmail them with this for years to come- I'm sure of it!

Tate's big week!!!

You heard him right... potty training is over and he has done SO GREAT! He seriously is the cutest boy in the entire world and is so proud of himself for his big accomplishments. I really recommend not stressing out about potty training. They really do it once they are ready. On Sunday Tate got out of the bathtub and asked for his underwear and hasn't had a diaper since. It has been so exciting and quite a big deal around our house! We love the little monster!

I bought Chayse this new bouncy seat that has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen! I have always been a fan of the johnny jumper but that is the greatest idea I have ever seen. She absolutely loves it also. Chayse is starting to be a real wanderer around the house and LOVES to climb stairs. I continue to be amazed at how busy she is for being in such a tiny little body.

I am also excited to announce I FINALLY got new furniture for my downstairs. It has been a LONG 4 months without any couches. We have been so blessed and got this furniture and I couldn't be happier! It is HUGE! We didn't realize HOW HUGE until we got it home and had to actually return a piece. It just seemed to small in the store and my room seemed a lot bigger with no furniture in it! You can see how big it is with Chayse sitting on it. She looks like a little tiny speck on the couch! I do love it and it is very comfortable. I have big plans for my family room and the furniture was just the start so be watching for all of my fun things!
